Tom Cruise the actor of the famous movie series ‘The Mission Impossible’ did the impossible
in real life by convincing Universal Studios to agree to back a $200 Million movie that does
not even have a script yet. The most amazing thing is he successfully executed this
impossible mission over a Zoom call.
Universal signed off on this big-budget project over a Zoom call and is written and directed
by Doug Liman with his collaborator Christopher McQuarrie and is being produced by PJ
van Sanwijk. This project is to be produced in space so naturally Elon Musk and his much-
talked-about SpaceX project will be involved.
Cruise’s Mission Impossible series 5,6,7 and 8 director McQuarrie told that he would have a
ground control role as story advisor and producer. While Doug Liman, who has already
worked with Tom Cruise for his blockbuster movies’ Edge of Tomorrow’ and ‘American
Made’ is currently writing the script for this new action-adventure film. The budget presented
is merely an estimation of the production costs as the project is still being written. However,
you can be sure that the project will cost a lot more than what the usual space-set movies cost
as they do not break through the atmosphere for production. NASA has also been roped in to
provide assistance in the development of the film.
Cruise is currently filming the seventh movie of the Mission Impossible series, which had
been delayed because of the Coronavirus pandemic. There have been reports about a real
bridge being blown up for the film. He also has an upcoming release of the movie ‘Top Gun:
Maverick’, which is long-awaited by its fanbase. The release of the movie ‘Top Gun:
Maverick’ has been postponed to December and is now pushed further back till 2021 due to
the continued effects of the pandemic. The actor, Tom Cruise has always been famous for
performing his stunts by himself even at the age of 58, and we are excited to see what new
things will he bring to this first of a kind project.
