Government has recently banned many chinses app in India which included one of the most famous application Tiktok. But, at that time all the PUBG players were happy as it didn’t get banned in India. But, Today is a very sad day for all the PUBG lovers out there.
Ministry of Information and Technology took a major step today and has banned 118 mobile applications along with PUBG in India. Ban of Pubg has hit the app industry once again.
The Ministry explained the reason why they banned Pubg. In a statement, they said “This move will safeguard the interests of crores of Indian mobile and internet users. This decision is a targeted move to ensure safety, security and sovereignty of Indian cyberspace.”
They have also shared that they have received many complaints about misuse of the user’s information through mobile apps which were available both on iOS and Android from various sources. It was found that users data and private information was being transferred to the server in an unauthorised manner. And these serves were located out of India.
The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre has also recommended that these malicious apps should be blocked. They stated ” Likewise, there have been similar bipartisan concerns, flagged by various public representatives, both outside and inside the Parliament of India. There has been a strong chorus in the public space to take strict action against Apps that harm India’s sovereignty as well as the privacy of our citizens.”
They also added that serious concerns were raised that these apps collect and share personal information of data that can act as a serious security threat to the state as well as its citizens.
There are almost 33 million active PUBG players in India according to some reports. Which means private information of 33 million people was being transferred to servers which are situated outside India.
It has also been said that another reason for banning Pubg and 118 more Chinese application is the fresh tension over provocation by China in Ladakh

According to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the mobile game has been banned along with the other apps under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, on grounds that “they are engaged in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, the security of the state and public order”.
“This decision is a targeted move to ensure safety, security and sovereignty of Indian cyberspace,” the statement said.
This move, it said, would safeguard the interests of crores of Indian mobile and internet users.
